In this class we were to make a twitter to interact with other students and teachers to learn how we can use technology to branch out as teachers in the future. I have not yet started to use this twitter account to do this. The past few weeks have been busy with assignments and I am trying to stay on top of things that have a dead set due date, so I will do the twitter assignments soon. I do however, see as I scroll through my feed of my account every so often how others are using it to learn and communicate in the education field and that is what I will do in the future.  Digital Divide is the different type of obstacles that stand between students and their access to internet and using technology online. These obstacles can include things like students live in an area with bad internet connection, they don't have access to technology because of unfortunate financial circumstances, visual disabilities, etc. As far as internet issues and not having access to technology, it can be

For the discussion regarding ELA, I have chosen a standard from the first grade set of standards. The one that I chose was to make sure my students learn how to properly use text features like headings, table of contents, glossaries, electronic menus, and icons so that they can locate specific information and facts. I do feel that this is a necessary skill to teach because of how technologically advanced our society has become. I think I would feel comfortable teaching this because I am very familiar with it and it is not a very hard skill to pass on to them. Obviously, in order to meet these standards, as teachers we must use resources we can find and are provided to help the kids reach this goals. I chose a fun game called 'Cool Context Clues' which is an interactive video/game where kids learn about how to use context clues to figure out what a word in a sentence means that they don't know. It uses lots of fun pictures and first explains the skill with an example and th

It is very important to know what copyright and fair use are. Copyright is a law that protects original works by giving the creator credit for their work and not letting other people claim it or share it without saying where they got it from. Fair use is ways you can share parts of work you find while also giving credit to whoever created it and using it to explain something else or appreciate it. As a teacher in the future, I would deal with this by always stressing to address where works they are using for assignment have come from and to do so correctly so they do not get in trouble and receive a fair grade. There are many technology implementation issues arising in schools and in the classroom, meaning as teachers we will have to figure out ways to find solutions and handle them. Specifically, in regards to academic dishonesty, I would pull a student aside after class, explain to them what they did wrong, why it was wrong and tell them that if they do it again I will have to give

There are many digital platforms used in education specifically including Microsoft Word. Although I personally have always used google docs, I am definitely familiar with the platform and have used it a couple times before. I've used it for essays and assignments when my teacher preferred it. I like google docs more because it's under my google account and I can pull it up anywhere and there is also the amazing feature where you can share your document and allow others to edit on it. Although I agree with all of the standards that were talked about, I would say the most important is the learner standard. With the times moving as fast as they are in technological advances I think it is especially important for educators to constantly keep themselves updated and learn how to further include technology into their lesson plans and strategies. Going through the pandemic right now is as prime example, we have to learn online, so if educators have been actively keeping themselves up

Hello everyone! My name is Amanda Kroecker and I am from West Palm Beach. I am currently a junior at FSU and studying english. I transferred from TCC this semester, but am bummed I will not get to be on campus. I am taking this course for my education minor and am very excited! I think I am pretty familiar with educational technology. When I was in elementary school my teachers would use projectors, which are pretty outdated now, but were very new at the time. In high school and even now, we had to go on our phones or computers to use kahoot. And now I am using all of my technology in an educational way because all classes are remote. I do not feel as if I have a ton of personal learning networks. My mom is a teacher though, so if I ever need school supplies or anything like that I can always ask her. I have website all over the internet that help me further understand lessons, like youtube or quizlet. And lastly, I have my very professors that I can always go to.
